David Levi, Director of the Bolch Judicial Institute at Duke Law, talks with Judge Diane Wood of the U.S. Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit about her career and her time on the bench. She began her career as a legal academic in 1980 after a brief period at the U.S. State Dept. From 1993 until she was appointed a Circuit Judge for the Seventh Circuit in 1995, she served as Deputy Assistant AG in the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Justice Dept. She was Chief Judge of the Seventh Circuit from 2013 to 2020. She clerked for Judge Irving Goldberg on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and for Justice Harry Blackmun of the U.S. Supreme Court. Judge Wood is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences, a Board Member of the American Bar Foundation, is on the Council of the American Law Institute, and is a Senior Lecturer at the Univ. of Chicago Law School.
