The Law School community is invited to join Dean Kerry Abrams as she hosts International Organization for Migration Director General Amy Pope, J.D. '01, in the "Lawyers and Leaders" series. Established in 1951, IOM is the foremost intergovernmental organization in the field of migration, and under DG Pope's leadership, advocates policy on some of the most pressing issues facing the world today, including humanitarian crises and climate change. In addition, DG Pope has served in senior leadership positions on the National Security Council staff for Presidents Obama and Biden and as counsel for the United States Senate and the Department of Justice on issues involving migration, civil rights, criminal justice, and national security. The conversation will include the role of IOM in global affairs, DG Pope's career path, and advice for law students, among other topics. Lunch will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. The event is sponsored by the Office of the Dean. For more information, please contact Cindy Cammarn at cynthia.cammarn@law.duke.edu
