Patent Litigation in Delaware: A Conversation with Chief Judge Connolly

Duke Law & Technology Society has the honor to invite Chief Judge Colm Connolly L'91, United States District Court for the District of Delaware, and Forrest Jones L'12, partner from Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner LLP to talk about patent litigation in Delaware. As many companies take advantage of Delaware's favorable corporate statutes, numerous patent cases were filed in Delaware, which makes Delaware the second patent venue of choice around the country. Chief Judge Connolly was appointed as a district court judge in 2018 and became chief judge in 2021. He maintains an active docket of patent cases. Forrest Jones is an experienced patent litigator in front of ITC, PTAB, and the Federal Circuit. He has technical and legal experience in various areas of electrical and computer engineering.
