Moot Duke Law School will compete in the 30th Vis Moot in Vienna, Austria in April 2023. The Vis Moot is the premier global competition of its kind, with hundreds of schools participating from around the world. Students will develop advocacy skills for the resolution of transnational commercial disputes, and network with leading and future practitioners in international arbitration. This year's competition problem will be released in October; written memorials will be due in early December and late January; and oral arguments will be held in April in Vienna. Four students will be chosen for the speaking team, with an additional four students chosen to collaborate on the written memorials and to serve as alternates. All JD and JD/LLM students, and those LLM students not yet licensed to practice law, are eligible to compete. Practicing LLMs with Vis experience may apply to act as assistant coaches. This moot satisfies competition requirements for the Moot Court Board. To sign up for the tryout, and download the tryout instructions and materials, click here: https://bit.ly/3AXYFRH.
