Join us for a conversation with Judge Todd Hughes, the first openly gay person confirmed to a federal appellate court. Nominated by President Obama in 2013, Judge Hughes sits on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit where he hears a broad array of appeals, especially those regarding intellectual property. Judge Hughes will reflect on his career, both in the Justice Department and on the Federal Circuit, and will discuss live issues in the law and effective strategies for oral advocates, young lawyers, and potential clerks.
