Racial Justice Film Series: Just Mercy (Film and Discussion)

Please join us for the final event in our three-part Racial Justice Film Series: a screening of "Just Mercy." This film tells the true story of Walter McMillian, who, with the help of defense attorney Bryan Stevenson, appeals his murder conviction. The film is based on Stevenson's memoir of the same name and features Michael B. Jordan in the role of Stevenson. Participants will be given a link for the film upon registration, to watch any time before the event. The event itself will feature Olivia Ensign, Staff Attorney at the ACLU Capital Defense Project, and Robert Singagliese, Assistant Capital Defender in the Office of the Capital Defender of North Carolina and former Equal Justice Initiative fellow in Alabama, in discussion with Professor Anne Gordon, former capital habeas attorney and current director of the Duke Law Externship Program.
