SRM Discussion: A Measured Analysis on a Potential Avenue for Combatting Climate Change

December 04, 2024 • 12:30 PM • Law School 4045

Mitigation and adaptation are commonly considered the preeminent techniques to combat humanity's effects on the climate. Climate interventions, more commonly known as geoengineering, may be an additional set of responses. Please join the Environmental Law Society to hear from a panel of experts to discuss a subset of geoengineering: solar radiation modification (SRM). The panelists will provide an overview of SRM, discuss Duke Center on Risk's ongoing analyses, and address concerns of SRM's impact on different legal, environmental, and economic landscapes. Panelists will include Professor Jonathan Wiener and Tyler Felgenhauer. The event will be moderated by Professor Rachel Brewster and sponsored by the Environmental Law Society. If you have any questions, please contact Ryan Perez at rrp33@duke.edu. Please RSVP here: https://forms.gle/bjuCrSkqa7ye5oP99.
