Duke Law Students Victorious at Regional Moot Court Competition

Duke Law students put on a stellar performance last weekend at the Regional Moot Court Competition, sponsored by the American College of Trial Lawyers and the New York State Bar, in Richmond, VA. Competing against 20 teams from 11 schools, two teams from Duke University Moot Court, Duke University A and Duke University B, scored a perfect 2-0 preliminary-round record, defeating teams from the University of Virginia, West Virginia University, and The University of North Carolina.

Congratulations go out to Duke University Team B, comprised of 3Ls Lily Farel, Garett Levin, and Amy Kalman, on their close quarterfinal round. Congratulations also go out to Duke University A, consisting of 3Ls Sara Wickware, Audry Casusol, and April Nelson, who won their quarterfinal, semifinal, and final rounds, to capture the competition. They will advance to the January 2006 National Competition in New York.

Duke also received top honors in the best brief and best oralist competitions, with the best brief award going to Duke University A and the best oralist award going to teammate Sara Wickware.
