Proxy Link Builder
Main Content
Use this resource to create links to Duke-licensed electronic resources that can be used from any location with an internet connection and a valid Duke NetID/password. This link builder will provide easy access to subscription-based resources like HeinOnline, JSTOR, or EBSCO. Embed these links in syllabi, link them from your course's Sakai Resource page, or include them in group handouts.
To build a proxy link:
- Search the e-journals listing/online catalog to locate the source in a database.
- Identify the permalink to the desired article/chapter/opinion/etc.
- Copy/paste it into the box below.
- Copy the resulting URL above. Test the link by opening in a new tab/window. Make the sure the link takes you to the document you want to use.
Lexis, Westlaw, and Bloomberg Law
- To build links for LexisNexis resources, go to LexisNexis Link Builder. Options to copy a permanent link to a document or search results screen can also be found under Actions > Link to this page.
- To build links for Westlaw resources, go to Westlaw Link Creator. The button labeled "Copy link" will also copy a permanent link to a document or search results screen.
- Bloomberg Law resource links are stable, and can be copied/pasted from the browser address bar.
Open Access Sources
Remember, it is not necessary to build Duke proxy links for articles in SSRN, BePress, or other open access resources.
