At Duke Law, we understand the power of connections in today's fast-paced legal landscape. Each year, we host a series of annual networking events designed to give our students the opportunity to forge valuable relationships with a diverse group of legal professionals.
Blueprint for Success is a unique opportunity for key employers to connect with the Duke Law 1L Class in advance of the 2L recruitment season. Participating employers are invited to send representatives to discuss their client base and culture, spotlight growing practice areas, teach 1Ls about professionalism and practice, and build relationships before the rush of on-campus interviews.
Sharing Our Affinities provides an opportunity for diverse students who intend to apply for 1L summer diversity fellowship positions and/or 2L law firm positions to have conversations with attorneys from organizations that sponsor these programs. 2Ls and 3Ls who completed diversity fellowships during their 1L summer are also invited to attend to share their experiences with current 1Ls.
ESQ is a professional networking symposium held by the Business Law Society, in conjunction with the Career & Professional Development Center and the Alumni & Development Office. The event gives all Duke Law students an opportunity to meet alumni, attorneys, and accomplished practitioners in a range of businesses, entrepreneurial ventures, and practice areas including corporate law.
Much of the hiring of our students is facilitated through Duke Law’s extensive On-Campus Interview program (OCI) , one of the largest among all American law schools. Hundreds of employers come to Duke, eager to interview Duke law students because they know our graduates make great lawyers. This event is held every semester.
