Talk by Ambassador Patrick D. Duddy, former U.S. Ambassador to Venezuela
The International Studies Office and Public Interest and Pro Bono Office, together with Hispanic Law Students Association, will host Visiting Senior Lecturer, Ambassador Patrick D. Duddy, for a conversation with students interested in public interest and international affairs. Ambassador Duddy is a senior Latin American specialist with broad experience in trade, energy, public affairs and crisis management. He most recently served as the U.S. Ambassador to Venezuela, and previously as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for the Western Hemisphere. He helped coordinate U.S. support for the restoration of democracy in Haiti and later efforts in a bio-fuels agreement between Brazil and the U.S. Ambassador Duddy has served as U.S. head of delegation to international conferences on counternarcotics, energy and Haitian assistance, spoken to the a wide range of private sector groups, world affairs councils, NGOs and universities, and published op-ed columns on U.S. foreign and trade policy in Spanish and Portuguese.
