Paul Hespel LLM '95 named New York Super Lawyer

Paul Hespel LLM '95 from Belgium was named to Law & Politics’ “2007 Super Lawyers” ranking. The survey honors the top five percent of Manhattan-based attorneys.

Paul Hespel, partner of Goodwin Proctoer's New York office, was named in the Business/Corporate category.

Each year, Law & Politics surveys thousands of attorneys across Manhattan and asks them to vote for the best lawyers they have personally observed in action. Each lawyer is then given a score based on the number and type of votes received. Super Lawyers rankings are published in a total of 20 states, and lists outstanding lawyers in more than 60 practice areas.

    The Environmental Law and Policy Clinic weighed in on the first-ever regulations proposed for mineral exploitation of the ocean floor in June, emphasizing the need to protect deep-sea biodiversity and ecosystem function.  Little is known about life in the deep sea, a region scientists have only recently begun to explore, but discoveries over the past few years by Duke scientists and others have provided glimpses of an astonishing range of biodiversity — including unique life forms thriving in super-heated thermal vent environments.
