CLRP hosts Scholarship Mash-Up featuring Kerry L. Haynie

Kerry L. Haynie

The Duke Law Center on Law Race & Policy (CLRP) hosted its monthly CLRP Scholarship Mash-Up on February 27 featuring Kerry L. Haynie, Duke University’s dean of the social sciences and professor of Political Science and African and African American Studies. During the Mash-up, Haynie presented on his chapter “The Obama coalition and the future of American politics,” discussing the future of American politics, and he oriented the chapter around a robust discussion on the rise and fall of the rainbow coalition.

The Mash-ups are monthly luncheon meetings for Duke University faculty whose research seeks to advance racial equity. These interdisciplinary gatherings are intended to be a medium through which faculty can test their ideas with each other, share insights, secure feedback, and form meaningful relationships. At each meeting, a faculty member presents, and seeks input on, a current project. These meetings aim not only to enrich our shared scholarship but also to build community among university faculty with overlapping research interests and lead to future collaborations. Additional events are scheduled for March, and the series will culminate with a retreat for participants.
