Important maintenance: change to the student file server SRNSERV
Because of a possible hardware failure, we need to quickly transition the server that provides student file services at Duke Law.
Tomorrow morning (Friday) between 6am and 9am the current student server SRNSERV will be unavailable. When the server is back in service, it will be called SRNFILES and will be part of our virtualized server architecture.
Duke and Duke Law email accounts will be unaffected.
Netstorage web access to network files now on SRNSERV will be unchanged.
Those who access their files on a Windows computer will be able to log in as before.
Macintosh users will need to recreate aliases they might use so that they point to SRNFILES, according to the instructions on this page:
http://www.law.duke.edu/computing/orientation/nativefile
Finally, Duke Law student computers in the journal offices may need to be restarted after the maintenance period in order to access SRNFILES.
If you experience any difficulties, please do not hesitate to contact the Academic Technologies help desk (613-7072, helpdesk@law.duke.edu).
