Where NAFTA Stands: A Reassessment from the United States, Canada, and Mexico

Nearly 15 years after it came into effect politicians, scholars, labor leaders, and human rights advocates are divided on the overall impact of NAFTA, the North American Free Trade Agreement. The panelists, Alejandro Posadas, Debra Steger, and Gary Hufbauer will discuss how the agreement impacted each of the countries.
Alejandro Posadas is minister in charge of the Environment Office representing the Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources of Mexico in the Embassy of Mexico, Washington D.C.; Debra Steger is professor of law at the University of Ottawa; and Gary Hufbauer is Reginald Jones Senior Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics and author of the 2005 book NAFTA Revisited: Achievements and Challenges.
The panel will be moderated by Fritz Mayer, Professor of Policy Studies and Political Science, Terry Sanford Institute of Public Policy.
