Racial Justice Film Series | The Fight

The second event in our three-part Racial Justice Film Series is a screening of "The Fight." This gripping documentary chronicles four ACLU attorneys and their fight to protect transgender people in the military, to ensure access to abortion for a detained immigrant minor, to prevent a census question about citizenship status, and to reunite families separated at the US-Mexico border. The screening will be followed by a discussion with Lee Gelernt, Deputy Director of the ACLU Immigrant Rights Project and one of the attorneys featured in the film, and moderated by Professor Kate Evans of the Duke Immigrant Rights Clinic. This video documents the discussion after the film.

Also appearing: Anne Gordon (Duke Law).

Originally recorded on October 8, 2020.

Sponsored by Duke Immigrant and Refugee Project and Immigrant Rights Clinic.
