International Human Rights Clinic travels to New York during 77th UN General Assembly
Last week the Duke Law International Human Rights Clinic traveled to New York during the 77th United Nations General Assembly and participated in the Global Counterterrorism Forum’s Gender and Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism Policy Toolkit launch, at which Clinic Director and Clinical Professor Jayne Huckerby presented. Clinic members also visited The Center for Constitutional Rights and the Open Society Justice Initiative.
As part of International Week at Duke Law, which kicks off today, the clinic and Center for International and Comparative Law will host a special program tomorrow, “Human Rights in Practice: Supranational Institutions, Race, and the United States,” discussing the opportunities and challenges of engaging with supranational institutions, including the UN, in human rights advocacy, specifically with respect to racial justice.
