Setting up Duplex Printing on your Laptop Computer

For Windows

  1. Go to Start Menu in the bottom left corner of your computer. Click on Devices and Printers. If Devices and Printers is an option, use Search to bring it up.
  2. Right-click on the printer you wish to be set for duplexing
  3. Choose Printing Preferences.

    If the device is a Lexmark device,

    1. Select the radio button that says 2-sided long edge

    2. Then click Ok and exit the window. This will set duplex for all jobs you print.

    3. If you wish to print a single sided job, when you print that job, in the application, Word, Adobe, etc, File -> Print - > Properties, then select 1-sided. This will override the printer option.

    If you the device is an HP device,

    1. Select the drop down option that says Print on both sides and select Yes.

    2. Then click Ok and exit the window. This will set duplex for all jobs you print.

    3. If you wish to print a single sided job, when you print that job, in the application, Word, Adobe, etc, File -> Print - > Properties, then select 1-sided. This will override the printer option.
     

For Mac

  1. Choose print in an application such as Word
  2. Select Layout printer preferences
  3. Turn on two-sided printing with "Long-Edge Binding"
  4. Select Presets and then Save Current Settings as Preset
  5. Name the preset appropriately ("Two-sided Printing")
  6. Print! - now this will be the default Preset on most applications
